Three stars.
You know when you’ve been following a series for so long that you’re emotionally committed to seeing it through, even when individual books aren’t necessarily giving you everything you want?
That’s where I am with Vampire Academy.
I love these characters. I love Rose’s personality, her attitude, and the fact that she’s never been the kind of heroine who simply sits back and lets life happen to her.
And let’s be honest, Dimitri is still a pretty compelling reason to keep turning pages.
But this installment didn’t quite deliver the same excitement for me as my favorite books in the series.
I’m invested in the bigger picture, and sometimes that’s enough to keep me going even when a particular book doesn’t completely win me over.
Three stars. One more book to go!
