Guys… this chick is a fucking hurricane and i love her for it! Welcome to the Cruel Prince featuring Court politics. Intrigue. Villians. Anti-herores. Schemes. Plots. And a motherfucking Court of Shadows!!
Guilty pleasure: I fucking love the fey!! but i gotta admit some stories feel repetitive. Thank fucking christ for misss Holly because she refused to be just “another fey story”
Worldbuilding— What of us expect the Fey to live and act, however a new element on how a human would live with them
Our heroine—Jude is an ordinary human who was thrust into the world of fey as a wee young kit. She wishes she was one of them but alas
“If I cannot be better than the, I will become so much worse”
Like damn bitch, aint there no middle ground??
Jude was stolen away to the Fey kingdom and despite that she wants to belong—become a protector—make her life meaningful and shit and no one can stop her!
But it goes wrong…so fucking wrong… Jude is flawed. Like a lot. But this just helps her stand out among the perfection of the fey. Plus i like my heroines bloodthirsty soooooo
“You mean if you were hurt?”
“I mean if I hurt you.”
My skin prickles. I don’t like this. But at least I know what to say. “If you hurt me, I wouldn’t cry. I would hurt you back.”
Like this girl is seriously violent, she aint fooling around
And then theres this fucker,
Cardan— the youngest prince and the cruelest. Think life-threathening prank game.
Lili sneak peak:
“You really hate me, don’t you?”
“Almost as much as you hate me”
The dynamic between these two were hilarious and borderline psychotic so thats fun!!
Lots of fun side characters, especially the Court of Shadows
“What do you think about stealing a crown? Right in front of the kings and queens of Faerie?”
Her grin curls up at the corners. “Just tell me what I get to blow up.”
This group of misfits, thieves, and general trickersters were awesome and god I hope they get a bigger part in the next book
Plot— Brownie points for creativity but its was a slow-burning. At one point I wasn’t quite certain where the book was headed but she did have an end goal.
And like the fucking plot twists!!!! Like what the actually fuck

And when shit hit the fan, i went fucking nuts. That ending was just phenoumal. Cant wait for that sequel!!!!!!!!
