A Want So Wicked by Suzanne Young
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I adored this book. It has been mentally shelved as a Favorite for years because it truly spoke to my altar-ego inner teenager.
The feeling od reading through this entire series in a week, desperate to know how its all resolved, feeling seen myself in its pages, and loving the absolute angst of Ellie feeling like she has no idea who she truly is *cough* wonder why that spoke to me so much *cough*
Paired with a reader’s deep desire to be special made this book read lighting fast as our main character Ellie now struggles with two boys obsessed with her.
Thats rough buddy.
Overall, was extremely well written for its time, appealing to a younger YA audience. While I no longer feel able to keep this book actually shelved as a favorite as time passed, writing style preferences change, and the love triangle souring — I cannot stop endorsing this series because I still remember how much I loved reading that first time. So if the tropes speak to you, give it a chance.
I have not had the courage to reread it yet, but will write a coherent review if I ever do.
